Higher Hope is a southern gospel quartet based out of LaGrange, GA, whose traditional
sound harkens back to the roots of family harmonies, hymns and the traditional southern gospel sound.
The group’s ministry began in the spring of 2005 with the vision of founding member, Jenna Boyd Byers.
After a lifetime of experience with southern gospel music--thanks to her parents’ ministry as singers
and DJs and her own church performances that started at the age of 6--Jenna began writing songs at
the age of 18. The Lord blessed her with a role in Higher Hope at the age of 20. She has managed the
group’s ministry since its inception. First, as the lead singer in a family trio rounded out by her
sister and brother-in-law, then as the lead in the quartet Higher Hope is today.

Singing alto is Jenna’s mother, Gayla Boyd,
who got her start singing with her husband Donald in the southern gospel family quartet The Followers more than 38
years ago. Gayla has been a part of Higher Hope since 2006, and it’s easy to see her love for the Lord when she sings
on stage. Gayla is also a part of the TV and radio ministry "The Gospel Connection," with her husband.
The weekly program airs every Sunday morning from 6 AM - 10 AM on 98.1 FM, in the southwestern GA area.
And if you’re out of radio range, you can listen live via www.magic981.com. Donald and Gayla have sung
together for many years, and he will often show up at Higher Hope concerts to bless the audience with a song or two.

Bass vocalist Daniel Byers from Blairsville, GA started singing at the age of 5 and
later attended the Stamps-Baxter School of Music.
Danny has been a part of several singing groups, and when he met Jenna, he was manager and bass vocalist
for Next Chapter Quartet out of Alexander City, AL. In November 2008, Danny made the move to Higher Hope.
He and Jenna have been singing the gospel together since then, and they were married in April of 2010.

Joining them on the baritone vocal is Daniel Thompson out of Barnesville, GA.
Daniel started his singing career in church at the age of 15. He recalls that "One Day at a Time" was
the first song he performed, and he's been in love with music ever since. Daniel has been a part
of other musical groups, and just prior to joining Higher Hope, he was contemplating a solo singing
career until God told him He had other plans. Daniel is happily married to his beautiful wife Tonya,
and they have three children, Keri Ann, Jesse and Jacob. You will often see Daniel’s family members
with him on the road, supporting him and the Higher Hope ministry.
Higher Hope is proud to be a part of the Lamp Music Recording family out of Whitesburg, GA.
Lamp Music’s very own industry-leading producer, Mike Pillow, said about Higher Hope, "Even though the group
is fairly new, they have literally been singing all of their lives. . . When you add that kind of experience
with the tremendous original material written by Jenna Boyd Byers, you have really got a super combination!"
Audiences appreciate Higher Hope’s willingness to worship through song and the "old-school" feel of their
southern gospel music. Higher Hope’s goal is to spread the hope of a life in Jesus Christ through the messages
in their songs. They long to see souls saved, lives touched and Christians encouraged. Please pray for their ministry,
that these goals will be met and that the Lord will be glorified in everything that they do!
