Based out of LaGrange, Georgia, this dynamic mixed group began its journey in the spring of 2005. The group started out with founding member, Jenna Boyd, her sister Kylie Yearwood and brother-in-law David Yearwood. They were a young trio with a traditional gospel style and that unmistakable family harmony. When Kylie had her second child, it became evident that she could no longer continue to be on the road. After much prayer and consideration, David decided that he would continue on traveling with the group. Higher Hope was then faced with the decision of who would take Kylie’s place. Gayla is married to Donald Boyd, who has been heaveily involved in the southern gospel music industry in a number of ways over his lifetime. Lamp Music’s very own industry-leading producer, Mike Pillow, commented on the group, "Even though this group is fairly new, they have literally been singing all of their lives. . . When you add that kind of experience with the tremendous original material written by group member, Jenna Boyd, you have really got a super combination!" In the Fall of 2008, the decision was made to bring aboard bass vocalist, Daniel Byers, of Blairsville, GA. Higher Hope has recently enjoyed embarking on the new journey of the "quartet" sound. In August of 2009, Daniel proposed to Jenna and they are now engaged! The couple will be married on April 1, 2010.

Just recently, David made the decision to come off the road to be with Kylie and their three children. God sent Higher Hope a wonderful addition to the group, Daniel Thompson of Barnesville, GA. Daniel is married to his beautiful wife Tonya and they have three children: Keriann, Jesse and Jacob. Daniel now sings baritone for the group and his family is often right along side him in love and support for the ministry.

Higher Hope’s goal is to spread the hope of a life in Jesus Christ through the messages in southern gospel music. They long to see souls saved, lives touched, and Christians encouraged.
