.About Higher Hope

This exciting and dynamic trio features one of Gospel Music's most exciting young artists - Jenna Boyd, who is joined by her mother, Gayla Boyd and brother-in-law David Yearwood. Jenna's Dad, Donald Boyd also gets to travel with the group on occasion and adds his vocal talent to the program.

Jenna's family is well known in the west Georgia regional area for their extensive involvement in all aspects of the Southern Gospel Industry including: The Gospel Connection – TV/Radio Show, Co-founders of The Gospel Barn, and the Followers Quartet. Although many of today's new trios are heading towards a more contemporary, modern sound, Higher Hope tries to stick to their roots with a more traditional southern style with a message for today's church. They take inspiration from some of their favorite groups like The Perrys, Cathedrals, Goodmans, and the Hinsons, but they also like to bring fresh new material to the table that still reflect the era of southern gospel they grew up in.

Already they have been in concert with such artists as The McKameys, Heirline, Brian Free & Assurance, The Gallaways, The Freemans, The Perrys, and they even made a surprise guest performance on the Sogospelnews Awards program in April of 2005 where they got to share the stage with such artists as The Crabb Family, The Hoskins Family, Gold City, The McRaes and many more.

Lamp Music's owner and producer, Mike Pillow, recently commented on the group, "Even though this group is new, they have literally been singing all of their lives. . . When you add that kind of experience with the tremendous original material you have really got a super combination!" It is the earnest desire of Higher Hope to spread the hope of a life in Jesus Christ through the messages in southern gospel music. They long to see souls saved, lives touched, and Christians encouraged. So be looking out for Higher Hope…here they come!
